• Transport and shipment survey

These surveys are carried out when a yacht is about to be transported either by road or ship.

Our role in these type of survey is to provide independent record of condition of the yacht at the time of shipping and to ensure the method of lifting, supporting and securing of the yacht being transported.

• Supervisory Survey

(yard and refit work supervision, maintenance and repair supervision)

We provide assistance and supervisory service in a major refit process by monitoring works in key stages.
The objective of our surveyor is to independently verify that the work is being completed to the requisite level.
The requisite level is determined by the original contract covering the work. If possible, it is beneficial that the surveyor is involved at the contract stage to ensure adequate quality controls are put in place.

A detailed and specific contract, in terms of the work and quality levels required, will put the client in a strong position if the
work is substandard.

• Yacht delivery

We offer ‘door-to-door’ yacht transfer services that include an experienced crew that meets all certification, safety and reliability requirements.

• Safety equipment

We provide the service of checking and recommending safety equipment in accordance with the intended use of the yacht. Our recommendations are guided by the requirements of the flag state for a certain length, number of passengers and tonnage of the yacht. The level of equipment varies and depends of lots of pertinent factors.

 Yacht preparation for survey

In order for the survey to be effective there are some basic procedures that should be fulfilled before the survey starts. Logistic preparation of the yacht organized by owner or responsible person will contribute to enhance quality of the survey process.

  • Main contact information of the owner, broker, agent or responsible person
  • List of persons attending survey should be provided. Attn. to a limited number of persons which are appropriate to be on board during survey process.
  • Lifting and lowering service (shipyard, dry-dock) appointment for the yacht should be arranged according to the survey schedule
  • Underwater part of the yacht should be pressure washed and clean of marine growth for the underwater survey. Owner should provide permission to scrape anti-fouling paint patches as needed
  • For the vessel lifted ashore, the surrounding area should be clear, safe and appropriate to work in. Adequate boarding ladders should be provided and secured.
  • The yacht’s compartments and lockers should be accessible and personal items should be removed.
  • The yacht should be properly and fully ventilated prior to survey
  • On the day of survey all ‘works in progress’ on the yacht should be stopped
  • All relevant documentation and certification should be accessible to surveyor on board (i.e. certificate of Registry, insurance, log book, safety eq. certificates, owner’s manual, maintenance and repair history documentation, etc.)
  • The owner should organize certified crew to operate the yacht and yacht’s systems during sea trials
  • The owner should ensure that there is sufficient amount of fuel on board to carry out the sea trial test
  • The owner should organize all preparations and obtain permits from the marina and/or port authorities for the trial test at sea
  • The complete survey process is carried out in accordance with HSE requirements and any breach of these requirements is subject to the suspension of the inspection until the conditions for safe work are met. HSE – health, safety and environment.
